So yeah…
We had a great Valentines Day until about 6:00 pm…
We got a phone call from David’s parents and his grandmother who has been struggling with lung cancer was in the hospital and they were giving her not even through the night to live…
I tell you I have never packed a suitcase so fast in my entire life…
We tried to get a flight but there weren’t any leaving soon enough so we drove through the night…
Neither one of us got any sleep at all…
We got into Richmond, VA at about 5:00 am…
We picked up David’s mom and headed to the hospital…
She woke up as soon as we walked in and completely lit up…
She was sooo happy to see us and new that we had driven through the night to get there…
Today they did some more X-rays on her and now they are telling us that with the blood transfusions and the draining of the fluids from her lungs she might have a week or two more in her…
I don’t know really what to believe from the doctors reports because a couple weeks ago they were telling us that she had six months…and a few weeks before that they were saying she was cancer free…
Who knew we were going to get that phone call…
I tell you at that moment in time I was really tested as the wife…
I had to support David who was just tore up about the whole thing and make sure we were packed and that he was good to drive…
It was one of those life moments…
So were here in Virginia…
I think we will stay tomorrow and feel things out and if we feel like she is doing good enough to last another couple weeks we will just make sure to spend some valuable time with her and then head home the next day…
The most important thing for David was that he got some good time in with her before she goes and now that he has been able to do that I know his mind is a bit more at ease…
