Day 11-Waiting

Tonight in my reading I wasn’t seeing anything that jumped out at me. I’m still going through the Psalms reading plan. I understand a lot of the emotion behind the psalms but I want to understand the wording and intention even better. So tonight as I was reading through the plan and not really seeing anything I came across this verse in Psalm 28:14

Wait for the Lord;
be courageous and let your heart be strong.
Wait for the Lord

Then I looked at this same verse in the amplified version.

Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

I remembered the lyrics to this worship song that I love.

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord as we wait upon the Lord. Hope will rise as we wait upon the Lord as we wait upon the Lord.

I know there have been many times where I have waited on God for things but I’ve never thought about waiting for the Lord for strength and for hope. Notice in the amplified version its says to expect the Lord. To wait with a heart and an attitude of expectancy. Knowing that He will show himself in my situation.

So when your surrounded by a situation that is just out of control and you need strength and your heart needs hope. Wait for Him but not only wait, wait with a heart of expectancy. Knowing He will show up and turn your situation around. I hope this encourages someone today.

  1. I needed to hear that! We so often want things immediately that we don't wait on the Lord. So many times we ask for what we want and grow impatient not getting an answer when we need to wait and listen to God's response. It is the answer we need!
