Day 16-Faith In Motion

For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.

For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification],

I learned a few things from Romans chapter 1 today. The two above scriptures really stood out. The first one is Romans 1:17 and the second is Romans 1:20

I got stuck on the first verse for a while because of the phrase “disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith” I believe what Paul is trying to do here is teach us that there is a difference between works and faith. We can live a life of being good and doing good works but if were not living by faith that arouses more faith a momentum of faith if you will then were not living the life that God intended for us. Our faith should make us stronger and build us up to have even more faith when faced with situations. I keep seeing this scripture and in my head I see it as faith in motion. We should live a life of faith that is constantly in motion building up momentum and crashing us more and more into God and who God is.

The second verse is so awesome. It expresses something that I have talked about before. How can we deny that God is here when we see the wonderful beautiful things He has given us on this planet. I remember a moment in my life that just sold me on God. I was living in MN at the time and a meteor shower was supposed to go through. The weather wasn’t looking to great but me and my room mate at the time grab our comforters and sat in our parking lot at 4:30 in the morning and waited. What followed was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Meteor after meteor showered the sky. Some of them were so big they looked like the size of a semi truck. That night we counted 280 meteors! I remember while watching those meteors shoot through the sky that there was no denying that there is a God. How could these things happen by chance they just can’t! God is so big and so much bigger than I think our human minds can imagine.

Thank you so much for showing me these two scriptures in the word today. Help me to live a life where my faith is in a perpetual motion crashing towards you. Help my faith to build as I look and see your miracles around me every day. Thanks so much for loving us and for choosing to reveal yourself to us in so many wonderful and unique ways.
